Everyone always tells you that time goes way too fast, and you never really understand that until you have a little babe. It really does go entirely TOO fast. One day I woke up, and my precious little Letty was about to be 6 months old!!! I cried when I thought of it and began to look back at pictures of her over the past several months and saw how much she had changed from the day she was born. Looking at the pictures, I realized that I did not have many of just the two of us. I am always taking pictures of her by herself or of her with others. And while I still love all of those pictures so so much, I wanted pictures of my baby and I to be able to look back on one day.
So… I sent a text over to a local photographer with my requests of a mommy + me photo session, and she was more than obliged to schedule a shoot. It was scheduled and re-scheduled many times due to the weather and I began to get discouraged because I longed for these photos. Then one day, the weather was so perfect and we just did it! Little Scarlett Cole did absolutely amazing and she loved looking at the camera. It was actually hard to get some ‘candid’ shots because she was so into cheesin’ the entire time. Which is totally fine, because now we have some of the sweetest images to reflect on for the rest of our lives.
When styling this shoot, I really had two outfit options in mind for both of us. For half of the pictures I wanted more of a casual theme so I chose to wear this dress that I found this dress that is the most beautiful, neutral floral print that wouldn’t be too overpowering for pictures. I am 5’8″ tall and the dress was a tad short and hit me right at the ankles, so I ended up tying it up in a knot and pairing it with some taupe colored booties. For Scarlett’s casual outfit, I searched Amazon and found the sweetest little lace romper that was perfect. It is now sold out, but this romper is very similar and absolutely darling! For her headpiece, I found one similar here.
Next, I wanted more of an elegant look. Letty began to get super tired by this point, so we don’t have very many pictures with these outfits, but the ones we did get are so sweet. The blush dress I found here was the exact tone of pink I was looking for and was complimented by the warm glow of the setting sun. Letty’s dress was actually a shower gift and it is actually MudPie brand, but I did find this dress that is very similar.
This little babe is my whole world, along with my handsome hubs, and I thank the Lord day after day for blessing me with this life. Sallie Myers Photography (look her up on FB) made my visions come true, and I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we have. Next up, to get Coley in the pics with us to create a gallery wall in our home!
